Toward 2012: Perspectives on the Next Age

2 out of 5 stars

The biggest disappointment with this book is how the authors capitalize on the 2012 movement to sell a book that is just a collection of articles on a variety of subjects. However, there are a few good articles in the book which is why I give it a two out of five stars rather than a one. I do not recommend buying this book. If you’re in the bookstore, look through it first and read an article that stands out.

  1. I think this is a buch of crock. I am a christian a true believer AND a speaker of god. If you know the bible it says no one will no when i come not even the angels. So keep putting stupid stuff out like this on the internet and start a panic BUT I DON’T AND WILL NEVER BELIEVE IT! you have my younger sister so scared of life now. shes always refusing to get pregnant and married and remind she 18 YEARS OLD! QUIT POSTING THINGS WHEN WHEN YOU DONT HAVE NO PHYSICAL EVDIENCE AND QUIT SCARING PEOPLE AND LET US GET ON WITH OUR LIVES!

Hello Barbara, everyone is entitled to their own opinion which is why the two sites have an objective viewpoint. Thank you for posting yours and initiating conversation. However one thing I would like to point out, if you took the time to actually read the content thoroughly, you would see that the reference you make to the bible is quoted within the site. Also, as a Christian, you should pay attention to the sections on conspiracy theory of history and the New World Order. Also, after 2012 passes your daughter will be only 21 years old, plenty of time for her to get married and have kids.

I think there may have been a miscalulation regarding the 2012 date of December 21. The year 2012 is a leap year and I think Nostradamus himself may have overlooked this fact. The date you need to watch out for is December 13, 2013, which falls mysteriously on a Friday. December 13 may also have been the birthday of Nostradamus.

Thank you for your comment. There are some varying opinions on the calculation of the date. Some state December 22nd. I’ve seen a date in October as well. However, I feel that it makes the most sense that the end date occurs on the winter solstice and the astronomical event that takes place on that day.

  2. First I want to comment on the gentleman that was upset that his little sister didn’t want to marry and have children…it says in the bible in Matthew 24:38,39 For in the days of the before the flood, people were eating, drinking, marrying, and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them away. This is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man I am a Christian and I have read different versions of the Bible and the book of Revelation. I do believe no one will know the exact date in the coming of our Lord and Savior, however, Jesus himself has given us signs to look for throughout the Bible. I feel like as Christians we need to be consistent in how we carry ourselves day to day. By being faithful we encourage others to do the same. As long as we are true to ourselves and our Lord, and we treat our brothers and sisters like we are suppose to according to the Bible we should be rejoicing in the coming of our Lord, not upset or worrying that our lives on earth, (our temporary dwelling place) will end. Doesn’t God promise to give us everything our hearts desire? After September 11, I saw a special on Nostradomus that did intrest me. He seemed to predict the falling of the world trade centers. I am also a bit history student and our history does seem to repeat itself in some fashions. These things are already taking place in the world today…slowly but surely. Tsunamis, earthquakes, hurricanes, aids, cancer, diabetes. Churches are slpiting up and there are so many different types of churches now. Things that happened in the world used to be spaced out and within just the last 20 yrs they are happening more quickly. We are in the end times. I feel like we have some really big things yet to come and it’s not going to be a cake walk..the Bible promises that. But for those of us that make it to the end of the tunnel, we have so much to look forward to. As far as what Nostradamus predicts, He may not be spot on but he, just like the Mayans, isn’t far off. Winter solstice… Matthew 24:20 Pray that your flight will not take place in the winter or on the Sabbath. In 2012 Christmas Eve will fall on the Sabbath… could this be the beginning of the rapture? I believe Obama could be the last antichrist. We all know he isn’t of Christian religion. Antichrist simply means not for Christ. As a Christian, I am not afraid of the world ending because I know through scripture that the chosen ones will live with our Lord. I personally believe everyone dies throughout Armageddon except for those that are taken in the rapture and the chosen ones who never received the mark of the beast. Revelation 20:4, And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded bc of their testimony for Jesus and bc of the word of God. They had not worshiped the beast or his image and had not received the mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ 1000yrs. (5. The rest of the dead did not come to life until the 1000 yrs were ended.) This is the first resurection. When Armageddon is beginning, I believe to have understood that the Lord will do what is called 144,000 sealed. These people will have a seal on their foreheads so that no harm may be done to them. I then believe that after the 1000yr reign, those who have passed yrs and yrs before and those who passed in Armageddon will be risen to face judgment, even those in hell. Are the powers of nature scary? Of course they are. We have all been in a hurricane, tornado, earthquake, etc., of some sort at some time in our lives and they were scary, but we can’t stop them and we can’t stop the coming of our Lord. Why would you want to? He is the Alpha and Omega. Another interesting source is The Bible Code, designed to be revealed through certain technologies like the computer.
